Lastiko Endi Rahmantyo, S.S., M.Hum, is a dedicated lecturer in the English Department, Faculty of Humanities at Universitas Airlangga. His academic journey began with a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Universitas Airlangga in 2006. He furthered his education by earning a master's degree in 2012. Although he has not pursued a doctoral degree yet, his contributions to the field of English studies are significant.

Lastiko Endi's professional journey started with a decade-long stint as an administrator in the English Department, where he oversaw the A2 project from 2006 to 2009. After the project concluded, Professor Diah invited him to start teaching, and he seized the opportunity to advance his career. This marked a significant turning point in his life, as he transitioned from an administrative role to a teaching position.

As a lecturer, Lastiko Endi is actively involved in research, publishing articles and books on various topics. His research interests span a range of areas, including gender and sexuality, youth culture, e-learning, tracer study, and e-sports. One of his recent research outputs is an article titled "Exploring E-Sports: Case Study on Pro Evolution Soccer in Indonesia" (translated title) published in the journal SATWIKA: Kajian Ilmu Budaya dan Perubahan Sosial. Additionally, he has contributed to books such as "Jejak Enterpreneur 2021 Universitas Airlangga" and "Jejak Langkah Ksatria Airlangga".

In 2019, the Faculty of Humanities at Universitas Airlangga organized a community service program at the eLKisi Islamic Boarding School. The event aimed to enhance literacy and writing quality among high school students. Lastiko Endi led a workshop on creating engaging digital content with an Islamic perspective, which was well received by the participants. This community service program reflects his commitment to using his expertise to benefit society.

Beyond his professional life, Lastiko Endi has diverse interests. He enjoys playing casual video games on platforms like Steam and PlayStation, which helps him relax and unwind. He also spends quality time with his children by watching Netflix together. Although he used to be an avid cyclist, he has become less active in recent times.

Exploring Informative Essay Writing

              

                                         What the Informative Essay Writing Course Is About?

The Informative Essay Writing Course teaches students how to write essays that explain facts and ideas clearly. How to choose a topic, conduct research, and format the essay are all taught in the course. Students learn to create a strong thesis statement, which is the main idea of the essay, and support it with evidence like facts, statistics, and expert opinions. Students also gain the ability to create interesting conclusions, clear body paragraphs, and great introductions. They also discover how important it is to keep perspective and use correct information. To help students in improving their essay writing skills, the course contains exercises, peer reviews, and feedback from the lecture.

A survey report in English aims to convey information or facts about a specific topic in a clear and structured manner. It is often based on research or investigation. Let me provide you with a short example of a survey report :

Even with all the exercises and feedback that students get from this courses, students often face challenges when writing informative essays. One common problem is picking a good topic. Students might have trouble finding a subject that interests them and has enough information for a full essay. Another challenge is doing effective research. Finding trustworthy sources and picking out relevant information from a lot of data can be tough. For example is when we learn about survey report material, we get the task to make a survey report. To get the data we need, we are required to make a survey in google forms that we publish through social media. And of course, it takes several days to reach the target respondents from our survey. Therefore, we cannot immediately do the survey report because the data we need is not enough. Finally, managing time is another difficulties that maybe some students get when do this courses assignment. Informative essay writing courses help students develop the skills to overcome these problems and write well-structured essays. It also helps them manage their time better and improve their writing through practice and feedback.

Medina Zein Divonis 6 Bulan Penjara Kasus Pencemaran Nama Baik

           

      

   Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- Selebgram Medina Zein divonis dengan pidana enam bulan penjara terkait kasus pencemaran nama baik melalui media elektronik terhadap Marissya Icha.

"Mengadili, menyatakan, terdakwa Medina Susani alias Medina Zein telah terbukti secara sah dan meyakinkan melakukan tindak pidana pencemaran nama baik melalui media elektronik," ujar hakim ketua Bawono Effendi saat membacakan amar putusan di Pengadilan Negeri (PN) Jakarta Selatan, Kamis (29/9).

"Menjatuhkan pidana oleh karena itu dengan pidanan penjara selama enam bulan dan denda Rp50 juta rupiah. Dengan ketentuan jika denda tersebut tidak dibayar, diganti dengan pidana kurungan selama satu bulan.," imbuhnya

    Vonis ini lebih ringan daripada tuntutan jaksa penuntut umum yang ingin Medina Zein dihukum satu tahun penjara untuk kasus pencemaran nama baik terhadap Marissya Icha. Dalam perkara ini, Medina Zein dinyatakan bersalah melanggar Pasal 310 dan 311 KUHP dan atau Pasal 27 ayat (3) UU RI Nomor 19 Tahun 2016 tentang ITE.

   Dalam menjatuhkan putusan ini, hakim mengungkapkan hal-hal yang memberatkan maupun meringankan untuk Medina Zein. Hal memberatkan yakni perbuatan Medina sangat tidak sesuai dan bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai etika kesopanan dan tidak mendidik penguna media sosial apalagi ia memiliki banyak followersnya.

    Sedangkan hal meringankan yaitu Medina belum pernah dihukum, ia merupakan seorang ibu dari dua orang anak yang membutuhkan perhatian dan bimbingan dari seorang ibu, mengakui bersalah dan bersedia memohon maaf kepada saksi Marissa Mulyana, dan memiliki gangguan jiwa bipolar sehingga memerlukan perawatan intensif. Diketahui, kegaduhan bermula saat Marissya Icha menduga Medina Zein menjual tas palsu kepadanya. Oleh karena itu, Marissya meminta agar mantan bos kosmetik itu segera mengembalikan uang pembelian tas tersebut.

Namun, Medina Zein justru mengancam dan menghina Marissya Icha melalui media sosial. Tak terima dengan hal itu, Marissya Icha kemudian melaporkan Medina Zein ke Polda Metro Jaya pada September 2021 atas dugaan pencemaran nama baik.
